By default, most USB printers connect to the internet via a USB cable.

But sometimes a USB printer will display an error message and ask you to connect to a PC or laptop.

This is usually because the printer has crashed, and the computer’s firmware is not compatible with the printer.

To fix this problem, open the printer’s Preferences menu and select the “Print” button.

You’ll see a list of options for the printer, which should include: print quality: Choose whether the printer should print on your screen (or print in your printer’s document mode).
